A little naming help in exchange for some goodies!

Well, I was able to track down the always adorable Mimi and take a few pictures today but I need a little help! I am having a fantastic time working with an entirely new set of prints, all with an Asian influence. I tend to gravitate towards shabby florals with too much predictability these days so I'm pushing outside my normal zone. I've got more I hope to piece together and I'm stuck naming the collection. Do they really need a name? Nope, but it's fun! I'm aiming for 3-4 pieces all with a different look and the various Asian style prints being the common theme. Well, I've got this awesome stash of stuff from Carolina Pad (see earlier post) that someone is going to win for free. I thought maybe I could make my question be, "What in the world should I name this Asian group of pieces?" I know it might help to see the rest of the pieces but I'm just not that far along yet, they still remain as uncut yardage just waiting to be used :) So I'll just do what I tell my toddler "use my words" The to be seen pieces will include blacks and pinks, fans and adorable little girls. Is that enough to go on? If throwing in a name for a collection has you stumped like me, then maybe you can leave a comment on what cultures and/or trends are catching your attention these days. Just click on the comments section below this entry, leave one and we'll pick a winner! Join my mailing list and check back to the blog to see if you are the lucky winner.

What about "Asian Illusions"?

Or "Fantastic Array" or Collection? I was thinking something with the word Fantastic in it to represent the Asian fans? Play on words.

Gorgeous Designs, BTW:)

You always do names (and Collection) so perhaps look up popular girl names in Japan, China, etc.

Mitsuki
Kiri
Tashi
Mei
Mai
Maemi
Hana
Akiko

just for suggestions to start with...

Hey Debbie,

Can't wait to see the new line! I am thinking Asian Aviary. It makes me think of beautiful spring and summer evenings with the smell of flowers filling the air as the birds sing.

Great Blog! LOVE your new dress! The fabrics are great. Keep up the great work. I'd call it Kubota Breeze. Try mixing in an unexpected fabric that harmonizes with the colors. Extra unexpected appliques & embellishments are fun too.

How about "Livin in the Zen", "In the Zen" or "Zen Expressions"

I really like Tabbi O.'s idea. After reading that, my idea sounds pretty lame! I was going to suggest something with the word 'garden', such as China Garden, etc. However, I really like Tabbi's idea better since you've used girls' names before. :) I love the fabric...very cute!

Also "Heavenly Zen", I love your patterns.

I cannot win, of course, but wanted to post. First of all, Debbie - it is gorgeous!! I'm so glad you went with these patterns!! Second, we (Carolina Pad) have a new collection in Target this year called "Asian Fusion." But I really love the suggestion "Kubota Breeze."

Natsuko is Japanese girl name and means Child of the Summer (if this is a summer line??)

Natsumi is also japanese and means Summer Beauty.

Sumalee is Thai and means beautiful flower.

Sumi is Japanese and means the beautiful one.

Hi Debbie,
I love this dress and can't wait to see what the other pieces will look like. I like Tabbi O's idea also. The girl names would be perfect! Thanks for the giveaway!

I really like Tabbi's idea too. These are girl names that I thought were really pretty and had fun meanings

Sakura (cherry blossom)
Shiori
Miki
Keiko (happy child)
Sachiko (child of happiness)
Kazumi (harmony)

Cherry Blossom Collection ... probably best to stick with English since most of us don't speak Japanese (besides my husband)

What about Miso Pretty? or Miso Beautiful? Miso Playful?
You could do a lot of things with the word miso.

I like the idea of combining one of the girls names with "breeze"
Sakura Breeze?

I love the ideas others have said, using an asian name to name the collection. I think Sumi is my favorite!

"Maddy's dress" because my best friend just had her first little girl and she is part Asian.
She is a doll and such a precious little baby.
